You don’t need two weeks to feel the pull of Tanzania. This compact private safari takes you from the elephant country of Tarangire to the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, bringing together two dramatically different wildlife areas in just three days.
Travel in your own 4×4 with a private safari guide, spend your days searching for wildlife and your evenings under the Tanzanian sky. It’s simple, adventurous and designed for travellers who want more wilderness without stretching the journey or the budget.
DAY 01 / TARANGIRE - WHERE THE GIANTS ROAM.
Your safari begins in Arusha, where you’ll meet your Wildpack guide and set off toward Tarangire National Park. As the city disappears behind you, Tanzania begins to open up.
Tarangire is elephant country. Ancient baobabs punctuate the landscape while herds move between woodland, open plains and the Tarangire River. Spend the afternoon game driving in search of elephants, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest and the predators that follow them.
As the light begins to soften, leave the day’s tracks behind and make your way to camp for your first night in the wild.

DAY 02 / NGORONGORO - TOWARD AN ANCIENT WORLD.
Wake to your first morning in the bush, have breakfast at camp and head out for another chance to explore Tarangire before continuing toward the Ngorongoro Highlands.
The landscape changes as you travel. Dry savannah gives way to greener farmland and the cooler highlands surrounding Ngorongoro.
Depending on the day’s timing, there may be an opportunity to stop at a local viewpoint or explore the surroundings before continuing to camp. Tomorrow, you’ll descend into one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife landscapes.

DAY 03 / NGORONGORO CRATER - INTO THE CRATER.
Start early and make your way to the crater rim. Then the road drops roughly 600 metres into an immense volcanic caldera where an extraordinary concentration of wildlife lives within the crater walls.
Spend the morning exploring the crater floor. Zebra and wildebeest graze across the grasslands, hippos gather in pools and buffalo move through the landscape. Lions are regularly encountered here, while the endangered black rhino remains one of Ngorongoro’s most sought-after sightings.
After a picnic lunch and your final game drive, climb back to the crater rim and begin the journey toward Arusha.
Three days later, you return to where you started, only now with considerably more dust on your shoes.
