Begin beneath Tarangire’s giant baobabs, descend into the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater and finish where the horizon seems to go on forever: the Serengeti.
This private safari is designed for travellers who want to experience Tanzania’s essential northern wilderness without spending a week on the road. DAY 01 / TARANGIRE - BEGIN WITH THE GIANTS.
Meet your Wildpack guide in Arusha and head southwest toward Tarangire National Park.
It doesn’t take long for the landscape to change. Giant baobabs rise above open woodland, dusty tracks wind toward the Tarangire River and elephants begin appearing in the spaces between.
Spend the afternoon game driving through one of northern Tanzania’s most distinctive parks. Alongside its famous elephants, Tarangire supports giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, antelope and predators including lions and leopards.
Stop for lunch and continue exploring until the afternoon light begins to soften.
Leave the park and settle into your lodge or tented camp for a relaxed first evening.

DAY 02 / NGORONGORO - DOWN INTO AN ANCIENT WORLD.
Rise early and make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
From the crater rim, the road descends approximately 600 metres into an immense volcanic caldera where an extraordinary concentration of wildlife lives within the ancient walls.
Spend the day exploring the crater floor in search of lions, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas. Keep watch across the open grasslands for the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by one of Africa’s most remarkable natural landscapes before continuing your game drive.
Later, climb back toward the crater rim and settle into your lodge for the evening.

DAY 03 / SERENGETI - WHERE THE ROAD MEETS THE HORIZON.
After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti.
Gradually, the highlands fall away and the landscape opens.
Then comes that first proper Serengeti horizon.
Enter the national park and spend the rest of the day game driving toward your camp. Lions rest around rocky kopjes, giraffes wander between acacias and cheetahs scan the grasslands for their next opportunity.
Depending on the season, wildebeest and zebra from the Great Migration may also be moving through the wider Serengeti ecosystem.
Continue exploring until evening, then settle into your tented camp surrounded by the sounds of the plains.

DAY 04 / SERENGETI - ONE MORE MORNING IN THE ENDLESS.
Wake early for your final game drive across the Serengeti.
Morning is one of the best times to be out. Temperatures are cooler, the light is beautiful and predators may still be active after the night.
Follow the tracks with your guide and see what the plains have arranged for your final hours in the bush.
Later, begin your return journey toward Arusha. Depending on the final accommodation choice and trip configuration, the return can be arranged by road or scheduled flight from the Serengeti, with the fly-out option carrying an additional cost.
Arrive in Arusha with four remarkably different days behind you.
