Rather than sending every traveller to the same corner of the Serengeti, we position your safari according to the season, using luxury camps selected for access to the areas where the migration is most likely to be active.
Begin slowly among Tarangire’s elephants before descending into Ngorongoro Crater. Then the journey turns toward the migration itself, with several days dedicated to following the herds, predators and constantly changing rhythm of the Serengeti.

DAY 01 / ARUSHA - ARRIVE. LEAVE THE CLOCK BEHIND.
Meet your Wildpack representative on arrival and transfer privately to your luxury lodge in Arusha.
Today remains beautifully uncomplicated.
Settle in, recover from your flight and enjoy the property before meeting your private guide for a safari briefing.
We’ll discuss the current migration conditions, your route and what the latest wildlife movements may mean for the days ahead.

DAY 02 / TARANGIRE - FIRST, THE GIANTS.
After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel privately to Tarangire National Park.
Enter a landscape dominated by enormous baobabs, seasonal river systems and some of northern Tanzania’s most impressive elephant populations.
Spend the day exploring with your guide, watching elephant families move through the woodland while searching for giraffes, buffalo, zebra, antelope and predators.
Enjoy lunch in the bush or at your lodge before continuing through the afternoon.
As the light softens, settle into your luxury camp.

DAY 03 / NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS - FROM DUST TO GREEN.
Enjoy a slower morning in Tarangire.
Take an early game drive or linger over breakfast before leaving elephant country and travelling toward the Ngorongoro Highlands.
The landscape changes gradually as dry savannah gives way to fertile farmland, forest and cooler mountain air.
Arrive at your luxury lodge with the afternoon deliberately open.
Enjoy the surroundings, relax at the property or simply watch the changing light across the highlands.
Tomorrow begins early.
And far below.

DAY 04 / NGORONGORO CRATER - DOWN INTO ANOTHER WORLD.
Descend approximately 600 metres from the crater rim into one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife environments.
Spend the morning exploring grasslands, wetlands and woodland in search of lions, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, hippos and hyenas.
Keep watch for the endangered black rhino across the open crater floor.
With your private vehicle, there is no need to hurry through interesting sightings.
Enjoy a beautifully prepared picnic lunch before continuing your exploration.
Later, return to the highlands for one final evening before the journey turns toward the Serengeti.

DAY 05 / SERENGETI MIGRATION COUNTRY - FLY TOWARD THE HERDS.
Today, trade long stretches of road for the sky.
Transfer to the appropriate airstrip and board a scheduled bush flight toward the Serengeti region best positioned for the seasonal migration.
Your destination may be southern, central, western or northern Serengeti depending on the time of year.
Land in the wilderness and meet your safari vehicle.
Then start looking.
Perhaps the first wildebeest appear as scattered silhouettes.
Then dozens.
Then hundreds.
Sometimes the scale only makes sense once you’re standing in the middle of it.

DAY 06 / GREAT MIGRATION - FOLLOW THE MOVEMENT.
Wake before the plains have properly found their colour.
Head out with your private guide to locate the herds and understand how they’ve moved overnight.
There is no predetermined circuit.
Your route responds to wildlife.
During calving season, this might mean immense nursery herds scattered across southern plains while lions, cheetahs and hyenas patrol nearby.
During northern migration season, attention may shift toward gathering herds and river systems.
Spend as much time as conditions allow with the action before returning to camp.

DAY 07 / GREAT MIGRATION - WAIT FOR THE UNSCRIPTED.
Migration safari rewards patience.
Head out again and follow the latest movement.
In northern Serengeti, herds may gather close to the Mara River. They might cross.
They might turn around.
They might stand there for hours apparently discussing the matter.
Nothing is guaranteed.
That’s precisely why witnessing a crossing feels extraordinary.
Elsewhere in the ecosystem, the day might bring hunting predators, newborn calves, enormous grazing herds or simply thousands of animals stretching toward the horizon.
Nature writes today’s itinerary.

DAY 08 / SERENGETI - SEE IT FROM THE SKY.
Today can begin differently.
Rise before dawn for an optional hot-air balloon safari, drifting silently above the Serengeti as the first light reaches the plains.
From above, tracks become patterns and herds become moving shapes across an enormous landscape.
After landing and breakfast, reconnect with your private guide and continue exploring by vehicle.
Prefer to stay on the ground? Skip the balloon and head directly into another full morning of game viewing.
This is your final full day.
There is absolutely no reason to hurry it.
Return to camp for sundowners and your last dinner beneath the Serengeti sky.

DAY 09 / SERENGETI → ARUSHA - THE HERDS STAY. YOU TAKE THE SKY.
Wake for one last morning in migration country.
Enjoy breakfast at camp and, depending on your flight schedule, take a final game drive toward the airstrip.
Board your scheduled bush flight back to Arusha.
The Serengeti gradually disappears beneath the wing.
On arrival, your private transfer will connect you with Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport or the next chapter of your Tanzania journey.
The herds continue moving.
They always have.

SOUTHERN SERENGETI & NDUTU
Calving season. Vast herds gather across the short-grass plains, with thousands of calves born and intense predator activity nearby.
APRIL – JUNE
CENTRAL & WESTERN SERENGETI
The herds begin their journey north and west, gathering into long columns as seasonal conditions reshape the landscape.
JULY – OCTOBER
NORTHERN SERENGETI
The migration reaches northern Serengeti and the Mara River region, where dramatic river crossings may occur.
NOVEMBER
CENTRAL & EASTERN SERENGETI
A transitional period as the herds begin turning south with the rains.
Migration timing is determined by rainfall, water and grazing conditions. Exact herd locations, predator encounters and river crossings can never be guaranteed.
