This journey begins in the air and ends on one of Africa’s most extraordinary crater floors.
Fly directly from Arusha into the Serengeti, skipping the long outward drive and landing close to the wildlife. Spend two nights exploring the plains before travelling overland through the changing landscapes between Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
The final chapter takes you down into the Ngorongoro Crater before returning to Arusha.
Five days.

And very little time wasted getting to either.
DAY 01 / ARUSHA → SERENGETI - STRAIGHT TO THE PLAINS.
Board your scheduled light aircraft from Arusha and fly toward the Serengeti.
Northern Tanzania unfolds beneath the wing before the enormous plains begin appearing below.
Land at a bush airstrip where your guide will be waiting.
From here, safari begins immediately.
Game drive toward your luxury tented camp while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest and other wildlife along the way.
Arrive at camp later in the afternoon with time to settle in before sundowners and dinner.

DAY 02 / SERENGETI - LET THE PLAINS HAVE THE DAY.
Wake inside one of the world’s great wildlife landscapes.
Head out early with your private guide while the air is cool and predators may still be active.
Explore open grasslands for cheetahs, rocky kopjes for lions and riverine areas where leopards may be found among the trees.
During migration periods, wildebeest and zebra may reshape the day’s route entirely.
There is no fixed circuit.
If something extraordinary happens, stay.
That’s what private safari is for.
Choose a picnic lunch in the wilderness or return to camp before another afternoon game drive.

DAY 03 / SERENGETI → NGORONGORO - ONE LAST MORNING IN THE ENDLESS.
Rise early for another game drive across the Serengeti.
Morning light brings a different energy to the plains, with predators returning from the night and grazing animals beginning another day.
After breakfast or a bush picnic, begin travelling east.
The landscape gradually changes as open plains give way to the higher ground of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
There’s no need to think of today as a transfer.
Wildlife doesn’t stop because you’re changing hotels.
Arrive in the Ngorongoro Highlands later in the day and settle into your luxury lodge.

DAY 04 / NGORONGORO CRATER - DOWN INTO AN ANCIENT WORLD.
Start early and travel to the crater rim.
Then descend approximately 600 metres.
The vast caldera below contains grassland, woodland, wetlands and freshwater pools, supporting an exceptional concentration of wildlife.
Spend the day searching for lions, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, hippos and hyenas while keeping watch for the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your private game drive.
Later, climb back toward the highlands.
Tonight is your final safari evening.
Take your time with it.

DAY 05 / NGORONGORO → ARUSHA - BACK TO ARUSHA. NOT QUITE THE SAME.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the highlands.
Then begin the drive back toward Arusha, passing through the farms, villages and changing landscapes of northern Tanzania.
Depending on your onward arrangements, continue to your Arusha hotel or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Five days ago, you flew over this country.
Now you’ve driven through it, slept inside it and watched lions wake up in it.
Much better perspective.
